DANIEL CAMPBELL is a registered architect with over thirty-five years of experience in architecture and historic preservation. Prior to his private practice, Dan was employed for 14 years with John Milner Architects Inc., of Chadds Ford, PA, a nationally-known award-winning architectural firm led by John D. Milner FAIA and Mary W. DeNadai, FAIA. As a Senior Associate of the firm, Dan worked directly with both of these principals - especially John Milner, while leading teams of multiple staff members, engineering consultants, materials conservators, and costs estimators.
In private practice as principal architect and project manager, Dan executes preservation and restoration projects through all phases of the architectural process, which includes measured drawings from field surveys, conditions assessments and treatment recommendations, code analysis, preservation and restoration design, code compliance design, restoration documentation, construction budgeting, bidding and contract administration. Projects include historic structure reports following National Park Service format, and restoration design required to comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
Dan has completed scores of condition assessments and restoration projects involving nationally significant, historic 17th, 18th, and 19th century buildings, most of which are listed as National Historic Register properties or National Historic Landmarks, and many with award-winning and published results.
